Introducing Advanced Edition
Advanced Portal Reports is now available in Standard and Advanced Edition. Here is what changes for your customers, and what to know before positioning it.
Standard Edition
continues to provide reporting and visibility capabilities for JSM Help Center customers.
Advanced Edition
adds controlled editable actions on top of the existing reporting experience.
This means that JSM project administrators can now not only enable customers to view request information but also give the opportunity to in-line edit selected fields directly from the report.
What's included in Advanced Edition
JSM project administrators controls:
which fields can be edited
for which request types editing is available
in which request statuses editing is available
which users, groups, or organizations can edit fields
whether field editing is enabled or disabled for the project
Customers can edit only what the JSM project administrator explicitly allows, the license-free model remains unchanged, with an additional layer of controlled interaction for portal customers.
Who is the Advanced Edition for
Advanced Edition fits use cases of customers who require not only filtering and reporting visibility but also would like to enable portal users to take editing actions on the reporting table.
Advanced Edition can be recommend to a customer when they:
Need portal users to edit specific request fields (e.g. change priority, selecting an option, providing missing information) without a Jira license
Has a process where a field should only be editable at certain stages (e.g. only while a request is "Awaiting customer" or "Open")
Need a restricted access to who can make those edits - by user, group, or organization
Wants a detailed record of who changed what, for accountability or compliance reasons
